SIMPLY the One..

He is at some point the person I really hated for he keeps his eyes on me in everything I do. But, now, I've realized that I can never find a man who could be such an inspiration. He is hardworking, no doubt about it. He always have over time in their office and whenever I see him in his and my mom's bedroom, he has a notebook on a hand and the other on his laptop. He goes home I guess once a week and worse once a month. I cannot blame him though, he is assigned in different places and regions in the country. Moreover, he is a father who looks so serious in front of many people but in our house, his better than Michael V. in making us laugh. My mom always tell us "Oh your dad, you can only joke around him when you're in the house..."I agree with her and that is one trait I really adore about him. Lastly, I can never deny the fact that he is a real family-man. He never let us down, if there's that person who will not stop working, day or night, rain or shine,it's him. He is more than a father, he is an inspiration, someone I should be thankful of having..He is the one who helped me become who I am now and If I'll be able to see God personally right at this moment...I'll not tell him all my desires, instead I'll thank him, thank him for giving me such a father...

LIFE AND FAMILY

It was all because of DESTINY…

It was already difficult for my grandmother to remember how her mom and dad met each other. It was a meeting even they cannot explain. The love between domingga alday and selvino Manalo was more than happiness and hardships, it was ultimately about taking care of their & children. The eldest of hem was my grandmother, Victoria Manalo, her other siblings were Anacito, Francisco, Mercedes, Melincia and Merlita Manalo.

Victoria was still in her sweet 17 when she found that an arranged marriage was set for her.It was a shocking news that any girl would not like. Everybody wants to have the chance to carefully choose the person they want to live with forever. It was Felix Ruiz, my grandfather, who captured the heart of my grandmother. Though, it was a difficult decision, they slowly learned to love each other. First there were hidden feelings, but as time passes, they admitted finally that they’ve realized that a learned love is stronger than love at first sight.

They had children, including Dolorfina and Virgilio Ruiz, my dad. He was an army officer who fell in love with a young girl in Manila. Elvira Tamises is the daughter of Elieuterio Tamises, a soldier and Virginia Dominggo, a public school teacher. My mom, Elvie always tell me that her parents had a very dramatic love story… Virginia was really not interested to Elieuterio before but he was a desperate suitor that he even followed Virgy in Quirino. After following her, my grandfather talked to my grandma’s parents and they were impressed with his determination.

They had two children, Christian and Elvira Ruiz. My mom was only 18 when she met my dad. It was a telenovela-liked meeting. My dad approached this college girl and asked her name. Who would ever think that they will be meant for each other?? My dad was 8 years older than my mom, a really big age gap. They developed feelings for each other…Now, my mom is already a teacher and her and dad’s love to each other was the reason why we’re here, me, Sharina and Shin.

It was a long story, though, it was something I don’t like to ever miss…

All that happened were not coincidences, they were like something planned, something destined….

What is your real purpose in life?

My dream changes as time passes by, until this time when the real goal I want to fulfill is already here. It is the stage in which all you've got to do is to achieve your dream step by step, little by little.

I am a typical teenager who dreams to be successful someday. I guess, the only difference is the way I want to achieve it. I want to be a well-known lawyer someday. My dad agrees with me but at some point, I doubted my own decision. There's something inside of me that convinces me to take the path I really enjoyed, Fine Arts. Now, after thinking for some time, I've realized, taking law is the direction I want to follow. It was like dream against your passion. I badly wanted to be a lawyer but my love for arts somewhat affects my determination. I have to prioritize things and I know, to be a lawyer is my ultimate goal. This desire encourages me to be the best I can be in any aspect. It's a purpose in life or should I say the most valuable gift that keeps you continue living.

Ever since, I wanted to be compared to a tree. It started with a single seed, like how I started from a child who only wishes to have the happiest life. As it gets older, it serves its purpose. Its branch becomes a foundation of a home, its leaves serve as shade for people who suffer from the extreme heat of the sun, its roots prevents flood from destroying everything. I wanted the same thing, to be a foundation of a group, a person that will be willing to help other people that suffer and to be someone who will always be there against all challenges in life...

Something like...Ordinary

Monday, no classes and that was good..hehe..not really....Tuesday, we had AP as our first subject so we really panic in reviewing. While cleaning our parts, we have the broom in one hand and the book in the other....The week ended with something really bad..Ahhhhh, it so happened that I made one of my classmates really angry. I did not mean to do something really irritating..but I guess it was really my fault being so childish at that point. I really don't know how to apologize for what I did...(haay..)

Ok, the climax of this week is Manny Pacquiao winning in his fight. Though I'm still thinking of what happened last Friday, I really enjoyed watching Pacman's fight. All the people in our place watched it and when Manny hit Diaz with that winning punch and then he was knocked out, all the people cheered and talked about how Manny won. (Hanep..galing talaga! He was like a hero..)

Taking it by STORM!!!

Yesterday was really something unexpected...In the news, it was said that Cavite is included in the signal #3 list. It was a normal weather report, what we're not really prepared of is having swimming pools inside your own home.

At first, it was raining really hard...next, the flood in the road was already knee high. After few minutes, we already see people walking into the flood with their hands holding their shoes and with the person shouting to the other " ANG LALIM-LALIM NA!!"(whoa...)

We are still lucky, our neighbor said that their house was already reached by the water and ours was not...YET. After about 15 minutes, here comes an eight-wheeler truck with about 3 passengers and at the same time HERE COMES THE FLOOD...

It was the first time our house was reached with flood, we were in Cavite City and my dad told us that "it was normal, heavy rains here cause high tides..."

Time to time, we are sweeping the water and the rain is starting to stop. We're just waiting for it to totally subside. It was really an irritating incident but at least I've experienced what was seen on televisions and I guess what happened to us can't really be compared with the others whose houses are destroyed with strong floods. We're just thankful, nothing that serious happened...

FWH: First Week High

The first week of school as a third year student was... normal, of course that was such a wrong description. Should I say it was a "BLAST". Having more subjects= more teachers, more responsibilities= less free time and more difficult diagnostic tests= more nose bleeds... you can say it was really a fun week?!?

Let me start with the very first day...luckily I was not late this time. This should be called the "Describe Yourself Day". Most of the teachers just asked us, the students to say something about ourselves. We were really used to this kind of stuffs but I guess as classmates for almost two years, we know one another a lot by this time.

Another extreme day on my list is the third day of classes. It was such a mind-blowing day because of the diagnostic day in the morning and so tiring because of the clubs' elections in the afternoon. By the way, I was also elected as an officer for the Social Studies Club known as the Kabayani Club. It was tiring yet worthy, a feeling that a long year of commitments is coming your way...

In all, it was a week of hectic schedules and exciting back-to-school activities. With the faces you've missed during summer, with the teachers you're about to know and with lessons you're about to love or to hate, I guess a junior student like me should never say NO to school..

SUMMER GOES
By : Russell Hoban

Summer goes, summer goes Like the sand between my toes When the waves go out That's how summer pulls away,Leaves me standing here today,Waiting for the bus.
Summer brought, summer brought All the frogs that I have caught Frogging at the pond,Hot dogs, flowers, shells and rocks,Postcards in my postcard box - Places far away.
Summer took, summer took All the lessons in my book,Blew them far away.I forgot the things I knew - Arithmetic and spelling, too,Never thought about them.
Summer's gone, summer's gone - Fall and winter coming on,Frosty in the morning. Here's the school bus right on time.I'm not really sad that I'm Going back to school.
